Fact Check: Did Punjab Kings Buy Shashank Singh By Mistake? Here’s the Truth

This IPL season, Punjab Kings went hot and cold, but they also had a lot of good games that made cricket fans happy. The Punjab Kings’ deal to buy 32-year-old Shashank Singh was called “a fluke” or “a mistake” on social media, and there was some misunderstanding. However, the deal turned out to be something else. To begin, Shashank Singh was not bought by mistake during the IPL mini-auction. This was made clear by the player and the team in a recent social media post.

There were Shashank Singhs up for sale in the IPL 2024. PBKS got the batter from Chattisgarh. He was with SRH in the IPL 2022 and is known for hitting the ball hard. That same person was a 19-year-old bowler from Bengal who has never played first-class cricket before.

PBKS was the only one to bid on Shashank, and things got interesting when the hammer dropped. While the auctioneer moved on to the next player, co-owners of PBKS Preity Zinta and Ness Wadia raised their hands and asked the auctioneer to take back the bid. An audio recording of Sagar verified this.

Although, PBKS used social media to make things clear about what they really wanted.
